Center City Brass Quintet

The brass quintet, comprised of two trumpets, french horn, trombone and tuba, is a relatively new invention. Prior to the end of the 20th century, original compositions for this instrumentation were few and far between. More recently, however, the brass quintet has come into its own, becoming an accepted, standard chamber music medium. In fact, the brass quintet has progressed to the point that the major composers of the day have embraced it. In this album, the Center City Brass Quintet features five works recently written by major American composers.
